Differences between products from analogues
Currently a wide range of humic fertilizers is offered in the global market - humates as powders and liquid concentrates; humates produced from peat, sapropel and other raw materials, even from organic wastes. All of these products are capable to stimulate plant growth and development, but their efficiency vary significantly.
The fertilizer «EDAGUM®SM» is a natural regulator of plant growth and development produced from environmentally sound lowland peat. «EDAGUM®SM» differs from other industrial humates by:
- higher biological activity, which is saved and preserved by soft producing method;
- the high content both humic and fulvic acids;
- pecularities of humic and fulvic acids molecular structure;
- presence of a unique complex of biologically active substances strengthening fertilizer’s action.
Fulvic acids, in complex with aminoacids, sugars and carboxylic acids (like succinic, methylsuccinic, citric, malic, fumaric), that are contained in the fertilizer «EDAGUM®SM», are inevitable for plants on the initial period of their growth. Having relatively low molecular weight, these substances can easily penetrate through cell membranes, facilitate uptake of nutrients, increase energy of seeds germination, promote development of root system and increase the biomass. Unlike fulvic acids, humic acids is undergone to hydrolysis and split to low-molecular substances after a while (especially at low humidity and soil biological activity circumstances). Thus, the fertilizer «EDAGUM®SM» effectively works for plants during all the vegetation period: starting from seed germination up to maturation of a crop.
According to IR-spectra, «EDAGUM®SM» possess wide range of the carboxylic and phenolic groups in humic substances of fertilizer, determining their high biological activity and mobility in the soil.
Microbiological and sanitary - bacteriological testing indicate the initial for the «EDAGUM®SM» lowland peat to contain various groups of microorganisms with high biological activity. The bacteria and actinomyces in peat demonstrate antibacterial activity, especially to grampositive, pathogenic, and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms. The microorganisms transfer into fertilizer during alkaline extraction of humic substances from peat (at a strict observance of the temperature mode). After the dilution to the work concentration and the subsequent application of fertilizer, the microorganisms take a part in the processes of dehumification with forming a wide range of above-mentioned substances, which possess a high penetrating ability through plant cell membrane.
Unlike fertilizer «EDAGUM®SM», other humates - popular nowadays in Russia and abroad – is produced, as a rule, from coal. These fertilizers contain mostly humic acids, a role of fulvic acids is very low – or they are extinct. More than that, these humic substances practically do not contain active forms of any helpful microorganizms. More then that, produced from coil humic substances contains mostly highly-aromatics and relatively low-active molecules. Therefore they show activity only on soils with the high humus content, enriched with innate various groups of microorganisms.
In the low fertile soils, especially in circumstances of dry climate, splitting of such kind of humic substances is slow and sometimes goes mostly under the influence of physical weathering factors (light, heat) rather than microbiological processes. Thus this types of humic substances has little effect on the plant during initial development stages.
Thus, differences between the effects of application of peat- and coal based humic substances can be noticed since a stage of seeds soaking. Solutions of humic products, rich in fulvic acids, have higher activity due to the presence of various growth stimulators. Benzoic, salicylic, citric, propionic and butyric acids provide bacteriological protection against the development of pathogenic microflora, which cause various plant diseases.
The unique "know-how" technology of fertilizer «EDAGUM®SM» production and careful control allow to receive the humic fertilizer exceeding in the efficiency not only the humates, produced from coal, but also other known analogues, produced from peat.
