IN INDUSTRY

The variety of chemical reactions in which humic preparations can be involved opens up broad prospects for their use in industry.

Humic preparations EDAGUM®SM can be used to improve the electrical properties of batteries as negative electrode expanders due to the high content of iron and water-soluble surfactants to improve the quality of clay solutions used in oil production. This improves the parameters of the clay solution - water loss, static tension of expansion, thickness of the clay crust.

Another area of application of humic preparations EDAGUM®SM is the production of iron ore pellets. The positive effect of humic preparations on the process of wet aggregation of dispersed materials (iron ore concentrates) is shown when replacing bentonite in the batch with humates.

Humic acids have been tested as a coking agent in the agglomeration of iron ores and concentrates. It is noted that humic preparations can be used as surface-active substances (SAS), sludge and suspension viscosity reducers, antialkynes, coagulants, tanning agents, dyes, nuclear industry wastewater purifiers, for the extraction of rare metals, sedimentation of coal sludge, titanium, aluminum, chromium and other hydroxides; activators to increase bending strength (from 20 to 31 kg/cm3), lightening, sifting, increasing productivity in the production of porcelain mass by 30%.

IN MEDICINE

One of the fundamental problems of modern medicine is the development of biologically active compounds from natural plant and animal raw materials as a means of increasing the non-specific resistance of the body.

Humic acids are recognized as promising for this purpose, for which their practical harmlessness for blood, cardiovascular and endocrine systems, vital organs has been revealed at the level of pathohistological and histochemical studies. They do not cause allergies and apophyloxia, pathological sensitization to medicinal substances, are apyrogenic, do not have teratogenic, embryotoxic and carcinogenic properties.

The greatest experience in the use for therapeutic purposes has been accumulated for peat humic substances. It was found that when the conductivity of the frog's heart muscle was impaired by a toxic dose of strophanthin, preliminary introduction of a humic preparation for 10 days into the animals' diet increased the working time of the heart by 48.7%. A protective effect of the humic preparation was manifested when animals were given a toxic dose of strychnine, which causes a sharp inhibition of inhibitory processes in the central nervous system. Preliminary use of humic preparations for 10 days saved life after treatment with strychnine in 30-70% of cases, with 100% mortality in the control group. When modeling the oxygen starvation process in experimental animals, an increase in life expectancy, survival and oxihemography was observed, which is associated with the activation of anaerobic respiration. The results of testing humic preparations on toxic anemia (administration of phenylhydrazine), toxic hepatitis (administration of CCI4), gastric ulcer (administration of serotonin), hypercholesterolemia, immobilization stress characterize them as preparations that cause a state of non-specifically increased resistance of the body. A multidisciplinary effect of the humic preparation as an adaptogen on various physiological systems was established and indicates its pronounced protective effect on the body. An increase in the content of total protein in the blood of rabbits by 18%, in white rats - by 21.4% due to the albumin fraction was noted. When introducing the humic preparation, the phagocytic activity of leukocytes increased in rabbits by 1.2-1.3 times, in guinea pigs - by 3-4 times. The stimulation of humoral defense processes was indicated by an increase in blood lysozyme. The stabilizing and therapeutic effect of humate preparations was confirmed by special studies of the level of neurotransmitters in the blood of rats (an increase in the content of acetylcholine, prevention of a decrease in cholesterase) due to an increase in the reactive properties of the central nervous system (an increase in the functional activity of the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of the nervous system). Studies have shown that humic preparations can be successfully used for immunocorrection of secondary immune disorders, in the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases, anti-cancer therapy, wound therapy, the blood clotting system, and the treatment of cataracts. Their anti-inflammatory and antiviral activity was noted.
